Diary 2003:
Wednesday 5th Feb. Contractions start in the small hours and continue throughout the day. They are about every 7-10 minute and they last between 30 and 60 seconds....but so far they stay at that level. Terri is very tired and fairly low. The midwives at the hospital tell us to stay at home and warn that it may not be the imminent arrival of baby Rothery the contractions could stop anytime.
Thursday 6th Feb. Into hospital for 7:45 a.m. What a day, contractions all day but not regular enough. Waters broken to try and encourage something. Then about 11:00 a drip set up with an oxytocin analogue to increase contractions
Friday 7th Feb. Getting tough now... Finally time to really push 3:00a.m. very tired Terri pushing very hard and at 4:30 Joel Asa Rothery was born weighing 7lb 10oz, measuring 50cm. Praise God.
